Lower Mustang

The Lower Mustang Trek is a relatively easy yet visually spectacular journey that forms the final section of the famous Annapurna Circuit. The trek takes you into the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world, flanked by the towering peaks of Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri. As you ascend, the lush, subtropical landscape quickly transforms into a dry, high-altitude desert reminiscent of the Tibetan plateau. You will explore charming villages like Marpha, famous for its apple orchards and brandy, and Kagbeni, the fascinating gateway to Upper Mustang. The ultimate destination is Muktinath (3,800m), a profoundly sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, known for its eternal flame and 108 water spouts. This trek offers excellent teahouse facilities, stunning mountain views, and a deep dive into the unique Thakali culture.
